My Unspoken Word
Welcome to M. Hellwig Creations!
We are pleased to have you visit us and are certain you will find our unusual products very interesting.
First out of the literary gate is a book of poetry created in 2006. By January 2007, this book was published by Entry Way Marketing and Publishing.
Please contact Victoria Freudiger:
entrywaypublish@aol.com for more details, Digi-Tall Media or Entry Way Marketing and Publishing to gain access to our media kit or check on book signing events.
My Unspoken Word is also currently available through several venues besides here on M.Hellwig Creations. Each of the poems found within my book have been created without titles. This new design of prose writing allows each separate reader to obtain their own image and title for each of the poems.
My Unspoken Word is a very attractive 94-page hardback rust-colored cloth, book measuring 8.5" x 8.5," which could easily be marketed as love memorabilia.
Although poetry is well known for being the genre that readers pick up and read in a few moments and then set it down...to finish later, our readers will most likely pick this book up and read it in one sitting. This miraculous prose reads as if it is one beautiful love story from beginning to end.
Acknowledgements
In the acknowledgements of my first book, I listed a number of people who played a pivotal role in my life during the year that led up to my first book being published. This act landed me in hot water of different degrees, with longtime friends and family who were not mentioned. So this time, I will take the easy way out, not only to stay out of the hot water, but I think it’s fair in keeping with the title of the book. I do, however, have to cheat a little (I won’t mention a name,) as a certain someone entered my life a little over two years ago who has had such a profound effect on me. I would be a much lesser developed individual had it not been for her.
At a point in my life where I was falling in every facet, this lady appeared and did everything in her power to brace the fall. She opened up and laid out everything on the table from the moment we met, asking for nothing in return and giving everything.
I was touched by her gifts, not because I wanted them, but because I needed them. Because of my awakening, I was forced to deal with my own shortcomings, fears, dislikes and hindrances; thereby allowing me to pick up the pieces, dust myself off, and continue on with my journey.
This book would have never materialized if not for her, not because she donated money, or a related set of skills. Simple truth is, without her, I would not have reached the level of consciousness I have attained, which sparked so many of these poems.
My favorite word in the English language is ‘unconditional.’ Why? Because it represents the commitment she displayed through a roller coaster ride we have shared over the last two years. She and I have laughed, cried, fought, and grown together at a rate I have never experienced before.
Now here’s to you, may all your dreams come true, for if anybody so deserves recognition, it is you.
Forward
Poetry is one of the few forms of art we have that relies solely on the satisfaction of the ear and mind. Poetry cannot be spruced up to look pretty or to trick the human eye as to the substance of its content. It is a naked art, just words on a piece of paper, or a person’s lips, waiting to be judged. Whether spoken or written, it is ultimately a mental journey taken by the reader or listener into the author’s soul.
I would like this book to be used in a different manner than is probably the norm. I believe that poetry is an interactive art, not a passive art. I want my words to spark an emotion, thought, response, or act. For this reason, I have purposely left each poem untitled, in hopes that the reader will assign his or her own title pertinent to their own response.
The title of this book is derived from the realization that very few of us get a chance to voice our thoughts and feelings to a wide audience. Usually, it is done through friends, family or coworkers, who see us on a preconceived level and often focus on the messenger and not the message.
The gift that poetry has given me, is a chance to reverse this process, and to allow my words to rain-true, thereby preceding any notion of my looks, personality, or character. Some of these thoughts I have spoken of before, but for reasons previously mentioned, I don’t believe his or her core content was heard.
If nothing else, I hope this book escorts the reader through a mental maze of questions, agreements, disagreements, laughs, cries, and maybe even change. When finished with this book, and I don’t mean just reading it; if the purchaser has completed their use of it, I ask that he or she pass it on preferably to a library in a community where the patrons would benefit the most.

The Poetry Within
Poem #1
* * * * * * * * * *
–Title of poem left blank for your imagination
Though I met him only once,
His words stayed with me,
He was average in statue,
But imposing company.
Knowledge cleared his path,
With experience behind,
The stuff you cannot read,
He had to stand in line.
Those eyes intently focused,
Seldom cracked a smile,
There to pass the torch,
Finished with his mile.
My life was just beginning.
His was near the end,
Evolution seesaw,
Recycling again.
He said, “Listen carefully,”
As the class settled down,
“Money is just a tool,
To cultivate your ground”,
“Its one and only purpose,
To carry you across the sea,
Not buy you what you want,
That’s chasing misery.”
When I have excess money,
And my pocket feels the burn,
I’m taken back to class,
Where his words return.
The day he left my presence,
He left his bill with me,
When placed back on the seesaw,
I must pay the fee.

Poem #2
* * * * * * * * * *
–Title of poem left blank for your imagination
I think everyone should move
At some point in their lives
Where no one knows their name
Or have ever seen their stripes
This place must call your spirit
So it can change the mold
Releasing what’s inside
Now ready to unfold
You can keep your friends
But leave all else behind
A chance to start anew
Enjoy this glass of wine
I know it sounds risky
One is right to hesitate
He who dares, wins
Don’t leave it up to fate

My Unspoken Word
“A twenty-first century poet for a twenty--first century world.”
My Unspoken Word, by Michael Hellwig, renders to the cultured reader a refined look deep into the heart and soul of a classic, yet new, millennial poet. Presenting a unique perspective in an urban setting, Michael Hellwig expresses the emotional paradoxes that so often confound us, in an elegant and insightful flow of lyrical joy and sorrow.
Punctuated with metaphorical wisdom and mystery, My Unspoken Word, provides the individual reader an opportunity to experience each poem without preconceived notions of their meanings. This leaves the interpretation and emotional response open each time his words are read.
Beautifully written with a systematic structure, this lyrical poetic journey takes the readers along on a ride that touches spiritual, political and cultural fantasy and reality. The poems within it are strong but also compassionate. At times there is anger and also spiritual reconciliation to the anger. This cathartic sojourn leaves the audience captured in the heart of every line.
My Unspoken Word by Michael Hellwig, for the connoisseur of fine and often unspoken treasures has been placed in a beautiful, rust colored 94-page hardback. Measuring 7.5 x 7.5, this book sells for $22.22. The unique images placed within this book were photographed by the well-known artist, Jim Bilgere of Dallas and were specifically placed within its pages to bring about even more imagination.
Also, a father, the author is an extremely hard worker in an exciting field… though it cannot be said that he is an amateur writer. He has experience with not only poetry but fiction and non-fiction as well. Currently living in Miami, Florida, he enjoys multiple projects at all times and is fast completing his autobiography for a 2008 copyright date. Michael is proud to say he is one of three children raised by the late, theologian and author, Monika Hellwig.
On February 23, 2007, you can meet him in person at the 11th Annual South Carolina Book Festival being held in the Thomas Cooper Library at the University of South Carolina. Also on hand will be four separate styles of his one-of-a-kind shirts. Entry Way Marketing and Publishing is extremely pleased and proud to be a part of Michael’s literary creations and new clothing line and have proudly showcased him and his works on www.creationsbymhellwig.com.
